Wow. Long Time!

Long time, no see. I did not forget about any of you. It seems, however, that real life got in the way for a while, including some serious health issues that are now resolved. So, what's going on now? Well, I've actually been looking into an exciting thing; property.

In another year or two, once I finish my associate's degree, I'm hoping to find myself 5 acres or less somewhere here in the US; probably Upstate New York or Virginia, to follow my bliss as a small scale homesteader. I've really gotten into Tiny Homes recently and think that just emphasizes all that I believe spiritually and morally.

I created a gofundme page to help me raise funds to create a homesteading haven. It is not just for me; sure, I will live on and maintain the property as my home full-time, but I also intend on working as a homesteading teacher. Along with my blog, "Homesteading on the Small Scale" I can really let that dream ride to its full potential and to teach people far and near, on the blog and in person about my trials and tribulations of homesteading for real. Hopefully we can all learn something from each other along the way.

I have a great many skills from being raised around, on and working on farms and in the country. There's a movement of self-reliant people who want to get back in touch with their roots and their planet while they protect it. I plan on giving live workshops on cooking, pickling, canning, animal husbandry, gardening, soap making, yarn spinning and more.
Wouldn't it be great to build a community of homesteaders to teach other people these skills? That would be able to get closer to reality too with a little time, elbow grease and some starter funds.

I believe I have a great deal to offer to the world and the homesteading community. Please consider donating a dollar or two and to spread the word. Thank you.
